Over the past ten years, 2002-2011, Hua Hin has hosted an increasingly successful jazz festival. Each year this event, normally held over the first weekend in June, lasts for two or three days.
From quiet beginnings, it has grown into probably the biggest and most important jazz event in Thailand's calendar.
Recognition must be given to the organisers and promoters who have toiled endlessly to attract big names. Last year, their efforts were rewarded with the appearance of acts from all over the world, including Kenny Garrett, Mike Stern and Dave Weckl, and a wealth of up-and-coming Thai talent.
For a couple of years, it seemed that the organizers were downscaling the event despite its popularity. Only one stage was present in 2007 and 2008 - this lead to some overcrowding problems with a rising tide. However, there was a return to two stages in 2009 and 2010 but more down-sizing and lot of confusion and date changes in 2011. This fabulous event deserves better organization and promotion than it gets.

The 2011 Hua Hin Jazz Festival was held on August 26-27.
Highlights of last year's Hua Hin Jazz Festival were the performances of Thai, Asian and world famous International Jazz musicians during the 3 days in different locations; on the beach and at Phonkingphet Public Park.
